Dongfeng Launches Nissan N7 EV Sedan in China for $16,450

by Grace

The Nissan N7 electric sedan, developed by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, has officially launched in China. Priced from 119,900 yuan (approximately 16,450 USD), the N7 shares much of its technology and price point with the Dongfeng eπ 007 sedan. The N7 is equipped with an impressive 625 km range and a peak power output of 200 kW (268 horsepower).

First NEV Offering from Dongfeng-Nissan

The Nissan N7 marks the first new energy vehicle (NEV) introduced by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. This move is seen as an effort by Nissan to strengthen its position in the Chinese market, where the company has faced a decline in sales. Nissan’s sales in China have fallen by 49% since 2019, with the company experiencing a five-year consecutive drop.

Key Specifications of the Nissan N7

The Nissan N7 is built on the Tianyan Architecture, designed to accommodate electric, plug-in hybrid, and extended range electric vehicles (PHEVs and EREVs). The sedan’s design follows Nissan’s V-Motion language, featuring a smooth, closed front end with a single LED strip and headlights integrated into the front bumper. The vehicle also incorporates retractable door handles, a single rear taillight, and a sleek roofline. The N7 achieves an impressive drag coefficient of 0.208, contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency.

In terms of size, the N7 measures 4930 mm in length, 1895 mm in width, and 1487 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2915 mm. These dimensions are similar to those of the Dongfeng eπ 007. The N7 is offered with two wheel sizes: 17-inch and 19-inch. The vehicle comes in six exterior colors: blue, silver, cyan, beige, white, and black.

Interior Features and Technology

Inside, the Nissan N7 features a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen display centrally located on the console. The sedan uses a two-spoke, oval-shaped steering wheel, with the gear shifter positioned behind it. The vehicle also includes a single LCD instrument panel, a 50W wireless charging pad, three USB ports, and two cup holders. Two interior color options are available: light gray and green-white.

A standout feature is the intelligent driving system, developed by Dongfeng Nissan and Momenta. The Nissan N7’s operating system runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and supports an AI voice assistant, connected to the DeepSeek-R1 model. The center screen is compatible with HiCar, Carlink, and CarPlay.

Additional interior highlights include front seats with a 12-point massage function, up to 14 speakers, 256-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a refrigerator. The car’s trunk offers 504 liters of space, providing ample storage.

Powertrain Options and Pricing

The Nissan N7 is available with two powertrain configurations. The base model features a 58 kWh LFP battery from Sunwoda, paired with a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor, offering a range of 510 to 540 km. The higher variant uses a 73 kWh LFP battery, providing power to a 200 kW (268 hp) motor, with a range of 625 km. This version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The Nissan N7 is offered in five trim levels, with the following pricing:

Nissan N7 510 Air – 119,900 yuan (16,450 USD)

Nissan N7 510 Pro – 129,900 yuan (17,830 USD)

Nissan N7 625 Pro – 139,900 yuan (19,200 USD)

Nissan N7 510 Max – 139,900 yuan (19,200 USD)

Nissan N7 625 Max – 149,900 yuan (20,570 USD)

The starting price of the Nissan N7 is on par with the Dongfeng eπ 007 sedan. Additionally, the N7 competes with popular electric vehicles like the Xpeng Mona M03 and the BYD Qin L EV in China’s growing EV market.
