Maruti Suzuki eVitara SUV Sales Expected to Start by September 2025

by Grace

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the much-anticipated eVitara electric SUV in India by September 2025. In addition, the company plans to introduce a brand-new SUV before the year ends. This new vehicle is expected to be a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, which has been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times. The Suzuki eVitara will compete directly with the Hyundai Creta Electric in the market.

Maruti Suzuki aims to produce around 70,000 units of the eVitara electric SUV, with the majority being exported to countries like Europe and Japan. The company has also confirmed that its electric vehicles will be sold through its NEXA retail network, without plans to open separate dealerships for EVs.

Maruti eVitara Specifications

The eVitara is built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e skateboard platform. It will be available with two battery options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh, both featuring LFP ‘Blade’ cells from BYD. The electric SUV will come with a front-axle-mounted motor, offering a peak torque of 192.5Nm. The 49kWh version will produce 143bhp, while the 61kWh variant will deliver 173bhp.

In international markets, the eVitara will also offer a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, producing 184bhp and 300Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the eVitara will have an impressive certified range of over 500 km on a full charge.
