Audi A3 and S3 Facelifts Unveiled in Australia

by Grace

Audi Australia has officially launched the updated A3 and S3 models, now available in local showrooms. The facelifted versions come with improved styling, upgraded technology, and new drivetrains. Pricing for the A3 starts at $54,800, while the S3 is priced from $78,800, both excluding on-road costs.

The updated lineup includes the standard A3 and the performance-focused S3, with the high-performance RS3 set to launch later this year. The A3 is now exclusively available in the ’35 TFSI’ variant, featuring a 1.5-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque, allowing the A3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. The A3’s fuel consumption is rated at 5.3L/100km on a combined cycle.

The previous A3 40 TFSI variant has been discontinued.

The S3, a step up from the A3, continues to use the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but with increased power and torque. The engine now delivers 245kW and 420Nm, improvements of 17kW and 20Nm over the previous model. The S3 can reach 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, and its fuel consumption ranges from 7.8 to 7.9L/100km, depending on the body style. All models are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. While the A3 is front-wheel drive, the S3 features all-wheel drive.

Standard features on the A3 35 TFSI include 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and auto-folding mirrors, a combination of cloth and synthetic leather upholstery, heated sports front seats, an electric driver’s seat, tri-zone climate control, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with live services. It also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation, DAB+ digital radio, a 10-speaker sound system, and a comprehensive suite of active safety technologies, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

The S3 adds further features, including 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive dampers, Matrix adaptive high beam headlights, aluminium-look mirror housings, Nappa leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and a 680W 15-speaker Sonos sound system. The S3 also benefits from extra power, sports suspension, and all-wheel drive.

Both the A3 and S3 offer optional packages. The A3’s $2000 Style Package includes black 18-inch wheels, black exterior trims, privacy glass, and colour ambient lighting. The S3 is available with two packages: the $1450 Launch Edition Package, which includes 19-inch wheels, carbon inlays, black tailpipes, and privacy glass; and the $3300 Premium Plus Package, which adds auto-dimming mirrors, memory function for the driver’s seat, a head-up display, and a sunroof.

Additional individual options for both models include premium paint ($900-$1850), an Akrapovic sports exhaust system for the S3 ($9900), an electric bootlid for the Sportback ($660-$850), a sunroof ($2000-$2600), rear privacy glass ($635-$825), aluminium roof rails for the Sportback ($550), full leather trim for the A3 35 TFSI ($1100), and carbon inlays for the S3 ($710).

The facelifted Audi A3 and S3 are now available for purchase in Australian showrooms, offering a blend of performance, style, and advanced features to suit a range of drivers.
