by Grace

BYD Cars Philippines has officially teased its upcoming electric vehicle, the eMAX 7 MPV, which is set to make a significant impact in the local MPV market. After receiving certification from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and being seen on local roads, the vehicle is poised for a debut soon.

The eMAX 7 is an all-electric MPV that could rival popular models such as the Toyota Innova Zenix, Hyundai Custin, and GAC M6 Pro. According to LTO homologation documents, the eMAX 7 will be available in two variants: the Standard and the Superior Captain.

The Standard variant will likely feature a seven-seat configuration, while the Superior Captain variant is expected to offer seating for six. The eMAX 7 will measure 4,710mm in length, 1,810mm in width, and 1,690mm in height, with a 2,800mm wheelbase and 170mm of ground clearance.

In terms of performance, the Standard model will produce 163 PS, while the Superior Captain will generate 204 PS. Both variants will be powered by a lithium-iron phosphate battery. The Standard version will require 11 hours to fully charge using an AC charger, while a DC fast charger can recharge it in 45 minutes. The Standard model will have a range of up to 420 km, and the Superior Captain will be capable of traveling up to 530 km on a single charge.

While more details are yet to be revealed, the official launch of the eMAX 7 may take place at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show later this month.
