Xiaomi EV, the electric vehicle division of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), has reached a significant milestone with the delivery of its 200,000th vehicle. This achievement highlights the company’s growing success in the automotive market.
The owners of the 200,000th vehicle, a young couple, chose a special red exterior color for their car, as announced by Xiaomi EV on Weibo.
The first 100,000 vehicles took 229 days to deliver, while the second 100,000 vehicles were delivered in just 119 days, demonstrating a rapid acceleration in Xiaomi EV’s delivery pace.
Xiaomi EV also noted that the 200,000th vehicle is the first to feature the new red exterior color, which was introduced on December 31, 2024, as a limited-edition option to celebrate the company’s 15th anniversary.
The company officially launched the SU7 electric sedan on March 28, 2024, which competes with Tesla’s Model 3. The SU7 is available in three versions—Standard, Pro, and Max—with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,840), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively. Deliveries for the Standard and Max versions began in April 2024, while the Pro version followed in May.
On February 27, Xiaomi introduced the SU7 Ultra, an upgraded model with 1,548 horsepower, based on the regular SU7. The SU7 Ultra is priced from RMB 529,900, with deliveries starting on March 2.
The regular SU7 model has seen strong demand, with over 248,000 pre-orders in 2024 and cumulative deliveries exceeding 135,000 units. Xiaomi EV reported that deliveries of the SU7 continued to exceed 20,000 units per month, marking five consecutive months of strong sales. As of March 1, total deliveries reached over 180,000 units.
The SU7’s continued popularity is noteworthy in the competitive Chinese EV market. Customers purchasing the regular SU7 now face a delivery wait time of at least 30 weeks, which is longer than when the model was initially launched. The SU7 Ultra has a wait time of 14 to 17 weeks.
