Toyota has officially revealed the new bZ7 electric sedan at the Auto Shanghai 2025 event. The model was developed in collaboration with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (GAC). It joins Toyota’s growing lineup of battery electric vehicles, which already includes the bZ4X and the bZ3.
So far, Toyota has shared only limited details about the bZ7. The company describes it as a flagship model. The sedan measures nearly 200 inches (about 5,080 mm) in length. Its design, both inside and out, stays close to the original concept shown in 2024. A lidar sensor is mounted on the front of the roof, while the front light bar and headlights resemble those seen on the Toyota Prius.
One noticeable change from the concept version is the addition of traditional door handles. Inside, the bZ7 features white leather seats, wood trim, and ambient lighting. A larger infotainment screen, powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS system, is also part of the interior setup. Toyota has not yet revealed full technical details, including information about the powertrain.
The bZ7 is set to launch first in China. According to a recent press release, Toyota aims to deliver the model to customers within the next year. Rumors suggest the starting price will be around CNY 170,000 (approximately $23,400). Toyota has not confirmed plans to sell the bZ7 in other markets, such as the United States, where models like the bZ4X are already available. Based on the current information, a U.S. launch appears unlikely.
