Shanghai (Gasgoo) – Audi is set to showcase the mass-produced version of its first concept car, the AUDI E, at AUTO SHANGHAI 2025. This debut marks a significant step in the growing collaboration between Audi and SAIC Motor.
The exterior of the AUDI E was designed by Audi’s expert team, known for creating the brand’s iconic vehicles. The design blends Audi’s classic avant-garde style with modern electric vehicle elements, catering specifically to Chinese consumer preferences. A key feature is its tech-inspired grille, which combines lighting, sensors, and aerodynamic elements into one unit. This innovative grille serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, giving the vehicle a distinctive front-end look.
On the technology side, the AUDI E is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 chip and is built on SAIC Motor’s Galaxy Full Stack 3.0 E/E architecture. This allows for seamless integration in four key areas: the cabin, driving, computing, and connectivity. The car’s Intelligent AUDI Assistant, developed with Audi’s dynamic interaction concept, uses large language models tailored to Chinese user behavior. With multimodal interaction and personalized in-car scenarios, the AUDI E provides a fully connected digital experience.
In terms of performance, the AUDI E features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that delivers a total output of 570 kW. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The vehicle is powered by a 100 kWh high-energy-density battery, supported by an 800V high-voltage platform for ultra-fast charging. In just 10 minutes, the car can gain a significant range boost, reducing concerns about battery life. Additionally, continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates ensure the AUDI E stays updated with the latest driving and interactive features, keeping it at the forefront of EV innovation.
