New BMW R1300R Unveiling Set for 10 April

by Grace

BMW Motorrad is set to unveil a new motorcycle this month, just days after revealing the R12 GS. In just three days, the company will unveil the R1300R. A teaser released on BMW’s official YouTube channel confirms the unveiling date and time.

The R1300R will closely resemble its predecessor, the R1250R, especially at the front and back. However, the new model will feature significant changes in the middle, where it will be powered by a new 1300cc boxer-twin engine. This engine will produce 145bhp and deliver impressive torque. As a result of the new engine’s compact design, the center section of the R1300R will likely appear leaner compared to the previous model.

To accommodate the updated engine, the R1300R will likely feature a revised chassis, which could alter the overall kerb weight of the motorcycle. Other components such as the suspension, wheels, and instrumentation might be upgraded or redesigned. Multiple variants of the R1300R will be available, with premium models expected to include features like electronic suspension and a blindspot detection system.

Initially, the BMW R1300R will launch in European and US markets. It is expected to reach other Asian countries afterward, with an Indian launch possibly scheduled for the festive season. However, the bike is anticipated to be priced at a premium, making it an expensive option for the Indian market.
