Volkswagen is offering a free home EV charger and standard installation for the first 500 customers in Australia who purchase a 2025 ID.4 Pro or 2025 ID.5 GTX.
This offer is designed to add extra value to the two models, which are priced at $59,990 for the ID.4 Pro and $72,990 for the ID.5 GTX (excluding on-road costs).
“We’ve recently discussed our efforts to secure the best position for the ID.4 and ID.5,” said Arjun Nidigallu, Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles national product manager. “The inclusion of a home charging solution highlights Volkswagen’s commitment to making BEV ownership easier, with added assurance and accessibility through our partners at Ampol and Volkswagen Group Australia’s On EV programme.”
Volkswagen has spent years preparing to launch its “simply better electric SUVs” in Australia. Pricing for both models was revealed only in February, and currently, only the ID.4 Pro and ID.5 GTX variants are available.
The ID.4 Pro offers a range of up to 544 km (WLTP) and features a rear-wheel-drive powertrain with 210 kW of power and 545 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and includes features such as Sport electronic stability control (ESC), 19-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Chassis Control suspension, and progressive steering.
The ID.5 GTX, with a range of 522 km (WLTP), delivers 250 kW of power and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.
Both the ID.4 Pro and ID.5 GTX are available for order, with deliveries expected to begin in the middle of the year.
The free offer includes a 7 kW home EV charger, along with standard installation. This covers up to 20 meters of cabling, a safety switch, a circuit breaker, and installation by a certified installer, valued at $1,899. However, customers will be responsible for any additional costs, such as trenching or custom mounting, if these exceed $100.
